Streaming services compress the life out of 4K. Netflix 4K averages 15-25 Mbps bitrate. A local 4K Blu-ray rip (which the SRKWikiPad can handle) runs at 50-100 Mbps. The difference is visible in shadow detail and fast-action scenes. The SRKWikiPad shines with local playback —files stored on the SD card or USB-C drive.
In VLC or MX Player, go to Settings > Decoder. Force Hardware Decoding (Full). Never use "Software decoding" for 4K—it will max out the CPU and cause thermal throttling.
4K movies are mostly 24fps (23.976). The SRKWikiPad's screen defaults to 60Hz. This causes "judder" during slow camera pans. Use an app like Refresh Rate Control to set the tablet to 24Hz when opening your video player.
