Based on the Marvel Comics character, the film follows Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage), a daredevil motorcycle stunt rider who, in a bid to save his mentor and friend, Crash Simpson (Sam Elliott), makes a deal with the devil, Mephistopheles (Djimon Hounsou). This deal allows Blaze to save Crash's life but at a terrible cost: Blaze's soul becomes bonded to the demon Zariel, transforming him into the Ghost Rider, a supernatural being with a hellish appearance and a fiery energy-based motorcycle.

The film's crew, led by director Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil, Domino), does an admirable job of bringing the world of Ghost Rider to life. The screenplay, written by Johnson and David S.
